Dear Scott,
We love our outdoor ping pong table. We got it about a year ago. Our basement is tiny, and there is no way to fit anything like a ping pong table, but a friend told me about the concept of outdoor ping pong... In an effort to try to get the kids out from in front of the TV, we got one.
Not only does it get the kids out of the house, it attracts all the neighbour's kids too!
And my boys have invented new games, like snow pong, rain pong, and night pong.
We have gone through a large number of ping pong balls, especially in the cold weather.
Finally, the best part are the conversations that just "happen" when you play ping pong with your teenagers... about school, friends, things that kids never talk about when you ask about them directly...
The kids have actually become quite accomplished at the sport, and have major "championships" with their friends to be king or queen of the table....
A great investment all around.
